Fractional CFO Services in New Jersey

Fractional CFO and CPA for $2M–$50M NJ companies since 2016: cash forecasting, KPI reporting, lender readiness and tax-aware decisions.

You have reached the point where the books are accurate but nobody has time to ask what they mean. Cash feels tighter than profit suggests. The bank wants a forecast. Every big decision has a tax side. A fractional CFO fills that gap without a full-time hire: we own the forecast, prepare the board or lender package and bring the tax consequences into each decision.

Typical scope

  • A rolling 13-week cash forecast and a 12-month operating budget.
  • A monthly reporting package with the five to ten measures that actually drive the business.
  • Pricing, margin and customer-profitability analysis.
  • Lender, investor and due-diligence preparation, including clean financial statements and a data room.
  • Board and management meeting attendance.
  • Tax-aware decisions on hiring in new states, entity structure, capital purchases and owner compensation.

Who it suits

Companies with roughly $2 million to $50 million in revenue that have outgrown bookkeeping-only support: often before a raise or bank facility, after a CFO departs or while a founder is still doing the finance job alone. Engagements are a fixed monthly retainer, with the scope written down so both sides know what’s included. Shree Accounting has provided this work to New Jersey companies since 2016.

Why a CPA as CFO

Most finance decisions have a tax side that’s cheaper to handle up front: where to hire, how to pay owners, when to buy equipment, how to structure a sale. Combining the CFO and tax roles means those questions get asked before the decision rather than at year-end.

For over 10 years, Prasanna was the CFO every business hopes to find. At our Secaucus, NJ apparel company, with operations across New York and overseas, he saved us significant costs, built accounting systems that simply work and brought sharp technical skill to flawless execution. Frequently asked questions

How much time does a fractional CFO spend with us?

It depends on the agreed scope, with more time around a raise, audit or board cycle.

Can our CPA firm also be our fractional CFO?

Yes. Tax work, bookkeeping and CFO advisory do not require independence, so one firm can provide all three. What a CFO client cannot get from the same firm is an audit or review report on its own financial statements: if a bank or investor requires one, an independent CPA firm issues it, and we prepare the statements and support the process. Your management keeps every decision and approval, as professional standards require.

Do you replace our bookkeeper?

Not necessarily. We can work with your existing bookkeeper or take over the books as part of the engagement.
