Tax Preparation Services in New Jersey
CPA-prepared individual, business, trust and nonprofit returns, multi-state filings, amended returns and catch-up filing for NJ and NY clients.
Every return is prepared and reviewed by a CPA. We ask the questions that matter for your situation, explain anything that changed from last year, and file on time or extend deliberately with a payment that avoids penalties.
Returns we prepare
- Individual returns (1040) with any number of state returns, including New York nonresident and New Jersey resident filings.
- S-Corporation (1120-S), partnership (1065) and C-Corporation (1120) returns, with K-1s and state composite filings.
- Trust and estate income tax returns (1041).
- Nonprofit returns (990, 990-EZ, 990-PF).
- Amended returns, prior-year returns and catch-up filing for missed years.
- Foreign reporting such as FBAR (FinCEN 114) and Form 8938 when you hold accounts abroad.
Common errors we fix
- RSU sales reported with a $0 or understated cost basis, which taxes the same income twice.
- New Jersey credits for tax paid to New York calculated on the wrong income.
- Missed estimated payments that trigger underpayment penalties.
- K-1 income from several states reported only on the home-state return.
- Home sales, rental depreciation and 1099-K amounts entered without the right adjustments.
How the season works
- At the start of the season you get a personalized document checklist in the secure portal.
- Upload documents as they arrive; we tell you what’s still missing.
- We prepare the return and walk you through it before you sign.
- You receive a copy, payment instructions and next year’s estimated payments.
S-Corporation and partnership returns are due March 15, and individual and C-Corporation returns April 15 for calendar-year filers. Extensions give six more months to file but not to pay, so when we extend we still calculate and pay what’s due.
Frequently asked questions
Can you file returns I missed in past years?
Yes. We prepare the missing returns, request IRS transcripts to confirm what the IRS has on file, and arrange payment plans or penalty relief where they’re available.
Do you prepare returns for people outside New Jersey?
Yes. We prepare federal returns for clients anywhere in the US and state returns in every state.
Is it worth paying a CPA if my return is simple?
If your return truly is simple, perhaps not. Most people who need a CPA have had something change: a move, a business, equity compensation, a second state or a home sale. The free readiness check gives you a quick answer.
